Summer Science Camp
Join us at UNO’s Glacier Creek Preserve in Bennington for a week of STEM-tastic fun & education!
Campers will investigate their world while flying drones, expand their knowledge with engineering challenges, learn about Nebraska wildlife & ecosystems, and more. The camp will include a one-day field trip to the UNO campus. Recreational activities will also be a part of the week, including art, archery, rope courses, and more. Lunch is provided.
Who: For youth that have completed 4th – 8th grades
Camp Schedule: 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
• Camp 1: July 10-14
• Camp 2: July 24-28
There is a FREE bus from the following locations: Maple Street YMCA and the North Boys & Girls Club. Bus stop times are to be determined. Pick up will begin at 8:00 am and drop off by 3:30 pm.
Camp TechNaturally is provided FREE for all youth. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of problem solvers,
There will be a total of 5 weeklong camps offered during the month of July at 2 destination locations
Eastern Nebraska 4-H Center (Gretna)
– Targets South Omaha Youth
1. Tuesday, July 5-Friday, July 9
2. Monday, July 17 – Friday, July 21
3. Monday, July 31 – Friday, August 4 (Specifically targeting Burmese and Karen Immigrant youth)
*Since we had such a great turn-out last year with the immigrant youth, we felt that we could fill a camp with these youth*
Glacier Creek Preserve (UNO)
– Target North Omaha Youth
1. Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 14
2. Monday, July 24 – Friday, July 28
*On Wednesday at each camp, a UNO professor, and his team will come out to Glacier Creek to conduct a drone/remote sensing activity with natural applications.
*One day each of these camp weeks, youth will visit UNO’s campus for STEM exploration (i.e. visit the CMANTIC Robotics Lab, planetarium, etc.)
