Career Launch

Career Launch encourages Club members ages 13 to 18 to assess their skills and interests, explore careers, make sound educational decisions, and prepare to join our nation's workforce. Club staff and volunteers help teens build their job-search skills and job readiness by using the Career Launch Facilitator Guide to work with teens individually or in small groups. The Career Launch program is facilitated in-person allowing for career exploration, college and job search information and interactive activities. Mentoring, job shadowing and training opportunities round out the program.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

In partnership with Metropolitan Community College to get members enrolled in CNA courses. These are available on weekends and weekday evenings. Students must complete the 5-week course and earn their state license to receive a stipend. We assist in preparing and submitting their CNA packet to MCC, as well as support them during their course and after.

CPR & First Aid Training

Two-hour class that certifies teens and prepares them to act when emergencies arise. We partner with Miss Brianna White as she provides members with an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED Certificate for K-12 Schools, valid for 2 years. Members will also receive a stipend upon completion.

Driver’s Permit

As a team we know the importance of having an ID and being able to drive. Eligible Nebraska teens are taken to the Sarpy DMV to take their learner’s permit exam. If successful, we will pay for the permit. We also support teens with partial reimbursement of a driver’s education course upon completion.

Diploma to Degrees

Diploma to Degrees, BGCA’s college readiness program, is here! This program provides a range of services to guide Club members as they work toward high school graduation and prepare for post-secondary education and career success. The Facilitator’s Guide includes fun high-yield activities. The Teen College Guide offers tips on achieving academic success and planning for post-secondary education.

Youth of the Year

The National Youth of the Year program promotes and recognizes service to Club and community, academic performance and contributions to family and spiritual life. A BGCM Youth of the Year is chosen to represent the organization at the state level competition. State winners then move on to regional competition and five regional winners enter the national competition in Washington, DC. The National Youth of the Year receives a total of $26,000 in scholarships and is installed by the President of the United States.
