The CLUB is a space within Boys & Girls Clubs created especially for teens, apart from the younger kids. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands has nine dedicated teen centers. Club memberships are FREE for teens!

ALL STARS - Sports League
Sports, Fitness & Recreation develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills.

CareerLaunch
CareerLaunch encourages Club members ages 13 to 18 to assess their skills and interests, explore careers, make sound educational decisions and prepare to join our nation’s work force. Club staff or volunteers use the Career Exploration Quick Reference Guide to work with teens individually or in small groups to build their job-search skills and job readiness. The CareerLaunch website, www.careerlaunch.net, provides Club teens, staff and volunteers with online career exploration, college and job search information and interactive activities. Mentoring, job shadowing and training opportunities round out the program.

Keystone Club
They Keystone Club is a unique leadership experience that provides opportunities for young people ages 14 to 18. Both in and out of the Club, youth participate in activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service. With the guidance of an adult advisor, Keystone Club has a positive impact on members, the Club and the community.

Passport To Manhood
Passport II Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 11 to 14. Passport II Manhood consists of 14 sessions that each concentrate on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive activities. Each Club participant receives his own “passport” to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth. Passport II Manhood represents a targeted effort to engage young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce positive behavior.

SMART Girls
SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls ages 8 to 12 and 13 to 17. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, filed trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.

Power Hour
Power Hour offers a structured time and place for Club staff and volunteers to help members with an important aspect of the educational process: homework. Members emerge from the program better prepared for classes and proud of their hard work and accomplishments. Power Hour helps members become self-directed, resourceful and independent learners. They turn in their homework assignments completed and on time.

Youth of the Year
The National Youth of the Year program promotes and recognizes service to Club and community, academic performance and contributions to family and spiritual life. A BGCM Youth of the Year is chosen to represent the organization at the state level competition. State winners then move on to regional competition and five regional winners enter the national competition in Washington, DC. The National Youth of the Year receives a total of $26,000 in scholarships and is installed by the President of the United States.

BGCM Scholarship Program
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands offers a scholarship program for current active BGCM seniors and alumni that plan to attend an accredited 2 or 4 year college, university, vocational training, or nursing school. Some scholarships are renewable up to 4 years and are awarded based on length of membership, participation level at the Club, financial need, leadership, and community service. Diplomas 2 Degrees
Thanks to the generous support of Toyota Financial Services and Darden Restaurants, Diploma to Degrees (d2D), BGCA’s new college readiness program, is here! This program provides a range of services to guide Club members as they work toward high school graduation and prepare for post-secondary education and career success. The Facilitator’s Guide includes fun high-yield activities. The Teen College Guide offers tips on achieving academic success and planning for post-secondary education.

Money Matters
They Money Matters program helps teens learn to balance a checkbook, create a budget and save and invest for college and retirement. As teens become more financially independent, we push them to track their money coming in and going out and plan for the future in order to successfully manage money in the real world.
